Early August 2006 update
We’ll fix all this!
Just a little more waiting & then We’ll be ready to open. The Inspector from the local authorities has paid us the long awaited visit, and apart from a few pretty straightforward problems, which need to be sorted out, we’re almost ready to re-open. As always a massive thank-you to You, our supporters, for all Your help. Without You – We would never have got this far.
So what’s occurred in the last month? Quite a lot. As all of us know who live on the Island, getting plumbers, carpenters, electricians or glaziers to come out & do the work they’ve agreed to do, is always a problem. In mid-summer it’s even worse. July has been spent mainly on the phone, chasing up workmen, and asking them nicely to come and finish the work they’ve started. Then asking them not so nicely, then sort of losing my temper, then remembering that definitely doesn’t work, so going back to asking them nicely.
Once the workmen have completed the finishing touches, we’ll be ready to re-open. A final inspection will have to be made by the Authorities (in order for us to be granted our license), this may be a problem in August (so many people are on holiday), but We will do our best to get the inspection done as soon as possible.
We’ve improved security measures in July 06 too, more security cameras have been installed (with still more on there way, we’re considering asking the U.S. government if they want to love their Fort Knox gold here, it’d be just as safe!) & we now permanently have someone living on the premises 7 nights a week.
